This is a great country ride with plenty of twists and turns and beautiful scenery.Go east on Hwy 54 and exit at the Eldon Hwy 52 and head to the historic river front town of Tuscumbia. After leaving Tuscumbia you will cross over the Osage river on very old bridge with wonderful views, just across the bridge Hwy 52 goes to the left to a fun filled road with lots of sweepers along the river on a hill. Great views all over. Then you will come to the town of ST. Elizabeth a quaint little town with a small cafe called Miss. Kitty's and they have some wonderful old country cooking and homemade pies. After filling your belly with some good cooking just turn around head back the way you came along the river and turn left on Hwy 17. Ride thru the country until you come across Route C. Turn on Route C and ride thru the little town of Ulman and then Brumley turn right on Hwy 42 and that brings you back to the lake. This is a really fun ride of about 100 miles filled with some really awesome scenery.
This ride is yet another river road with great scenery and twists. Head out on Hwy 42 or Hwy 52 and go to The town of Iberia and continue South to Crocker and sweep thru Waynesville (you will go under Bridges and twist the throttle along the river) to Hwy 44 go a few miles east on 44 to Devil's Elbow on CR-Z640 this road is pretty rough but very short (2-3 miles) and at the end is Elbow Inn right beside the river and they have good B.B.Q. truly a very unique place with`fabulous surroundings. On your way back to the lake take Hwy 28 towards Dixon and turn left on Hwy 63 to Vienna (Vienna has a place called Sally's on the corner by the gas station and the food you will always remember just like grandma's) Go left on 42 and follow it to the lake. This ride is about 110 miles and is highly recommended.
This is quite possibly the best ride of all. We call it the lake loop. This ride is also where you can get a lot of your passports stamped and have fun doing it. Start off at the Dam and go to Hwy W ( the single best road for bikes at the lake) follow this roller coaster road Thur the sweeping turns to Hwy Y go left and Hwy W will pick up again about 2 miles down go left on W. Follow this great road through the country until you get to Versailles and reach the 2nd stop sign at the town square - go left to the light and turn left at the light (Hwy 5 to Gravois Mills) now you will start to see the lake once again. You will see the Town of Sunrise Beach and cross over the lake on two high bridges. The views are exceptional and some of best spots on the lake are on this route. You will pull up to Camdenton and go left on Hwy 54 to the lake for a return. Remember to look at your passports for all of the fun filled places to stop along this ride.
This ride will take you away from the lake and travel north and east. This country ride starts off on Hwy 42 0r Hwy 52 and will go through the towns of Brumley,Iberia,Vienna,Belle,Bland and Owensville. This is some really nice two lane country riding with rolling hills and twists that go up to a state scenic route. After Owensville you will go north on Hwy 19 towards historic Hermann MO. This town is rich with history and has some good German food and some interesting shops and crafts. Go across the river and follow up to Hwy 94 and you will ride along some spectacular bluffs all the way to Jefferson City. There are many different ways to get back to the lake from here, just pull out your map and pick one. I would pick one for you but they are all good. Ride safe.
